Have you been feeling more than tired lately?!

Before March comes to an end, I wanted to to address a Women's Health Topic having to do with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. This came into my though process as I was helping a patient out as she kept describing to me doctors didn't know what was wrong with her because she simply didn't have the energy for anything lately. Although I was seeing her for something else, I kept thinking about her frustration. So I did a little reading with books and research, I was curious to know why her symptoms were being dismissed. And then I came across what some people say some women have he " Raggedy Ann Syndrome" known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

CFS is characterized by continual tiredness, achy muscles, fever, drowsiness, and the you know occasional "blah" moments that lost for not weeks months........ sometime for some women even years. I read that the typical patient are of course most likely woman between 20 and 50 years of age who are highly successful, educated and busy AF... Could this be you?! I mean at some point I even started asking myself could this be me! Well the answer to that was no because occasionally I do experience tiredness, but nothing that last for months, but it definitely made me curious to know what women should know....

So, ladies, did you know that the typical patient will have a hard time finding someone to take her symptoms seriously which can at times be confused for depression or maybe doctors don't know even how to screen for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and there is a criteria to fit into this diagnoses. However at the same time CFS can mimic symptoms such as infectious diseases, hormonal disorders such as thyroid disease, drug abuse and exposure to toxins. For a women to be diagnose with CFS she must have persisting symptoms lasting more than six months or longer, but as well as have at lease 8 of the 11 symptoms below:

 *Chills and mild fever
*Sore throat
*Painful or swollen lymph glands
*Unexplained general muscle weakness
*Muscle Discomfort
*Fatigue for a least 24 hours after previously tolerated exercise
 *Health unlike any previous pain
*Joint paint without joint swelling and redness
*Forgetfulness, excessive irritability, confusion, inability to concentrate
*Disturbed sleep
*Quick onset of symptoms within a few hours or days

Some of these symptoms are similar to COVID-19 SARS 2 and it could possibly be that during the pandemic that some women's fatigue started abruptly following an infection of COVID-19 or after the flu too. Also, Symptoms usually start during a stressful time and when unusual demands are being made of the person such as family, work etc.

CFS can show up in laboratory results with high white blood cell count, slight abnormality of the liver and antibody levels can increase or decrease. Of course this will be on a case by case basis. One thing to keep in mind ladies is to always to talk to your provider and follow up to see how your health keeps progressing. Now I know, I am no Medical Doctor, but I do know one thing you can do to ease the symptoms and you hear me say it all the time in my IG stories..

 *Eat right
*Exercise
*Prioritize your activities...
*If you need to take a break...It's okay....
*Continue living, but do monitor your symptoms
*Maintain a positive Attitude

There are several treatment to CFS diagnosis, but you will have to first get seen by a medical provider. Only tip of advice will be to look for a CFS specialist affiliated with a teaching hospital or university (Good examples are like USC or UCLA, UCSD etc.) You can also ask for a local support group that can help recommend a doctor. In other words ladies don't just sit around waiting for the answer to come to your lap, be proactive and take charge of your health.

3 Ways to Use Crystals for Women's Healing

Crystals are used in feng shui in a variety of ways, all with one single goal to create good energy in your home and/or body. They have been used for centuries and myriad purposes for healing, protection and decoration. Crystal are highly utilized for specific energy and vibrations they bring into your surroundings.

Crystals that are utilized for healing have a purpose that is often used instead of a medical technique. Crystals are placed around your body to act as a channel for healing which can help positive and healing energy flow into the body causing negative energy to be expelled. In particular for women's health, crystal can help transition vulnerable experiences into positive ones by shifting the energy in the mind, body, and soul with prayer, meditation, and divine light.

Today, I share with you three ways to use crystals, the first one, is setting crystals on your forearms. This intention is to release any negative energy flowing through our arms which the first part of body that comes into contact with objects and individuals. But before placing crystals on your body, it's important to cleanse and/or smudge them as well as set intentional prayer. After this process, begin placing one crystal at a time from the wrist to the elbow area. Allowing the crystals to be linear will provide a direction for the blood circulation to flow from north to south and visa versa. Cleaning the energy field as it leaves and returns.

Bonds Australia

Happy Monday Ladies! This past weekend I decided to change my bra game with some new designs from Bonds Australia .The bra designs are comfortable, fitting, and relaxing for petite woman like myself. I don't have to worry about loose straps and uncomfortable underlying wired bras. On top of their great selection they've design some bras with a smooth open back that is easy to wear with any tank top.

As woman, it's important for me to know that wearing a correctly fitted bra may help improve my posture, prevent pain and discomfort. According to Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, woman will wear up to six different bra sizes due to fluctuation of body change. So, it's important to check your bra size annually and make necessary changes.

Remember bras and styles vary on the preference for each individual, but make sure when trying out new bras to wear them for at least five minutes to asses fitting, mobility and comfort. Please don't make it a habit to buy a bra just because it's pretty, instead meet the needs to support your beautiful breast. And if the bra if chic and fashionable then it's Win Win!

Bonds Australia has a wide extensive selection of colors from purple to black and although I wanted to buy them all, I started with a simple trio with gray, brown and white.

Self Care Tips for Spring Season

Spring is the season to help declutter our lives by getting organized, make list, plan and schedule for spring projects. This is the season where women can focus on journaling, mind mapping and meditation for fertility wellness and purpose.

The beautiful thing about Spring it's celebrated around the world because the new sunlight provides our communities much more than food, plants, animals and warmth. It provides an opportunity to experience change. The type of change that can involve your physical, emotional and mental needs.

Now is the time to shift our energy and provide ourselves a nurturing environment. Therefore, it's essential to spend more time outdoors to celebrate our health transition. Being outside and receiving the light of the Sun through from our skin helps incredibly for hormonal health, rhythm, fertility, bone health, immune function, and moods.

A good dose of Sunshine can help boost your fertility whether your trying to get pregnant or have better hormonal balance for your menstruation. Sunglight affects the level of the hormone melatonin and a key vitamin that has a role in regulating women's reproductive cycle.

Spend more time outdoors by going for a walk, hike, or gardening because they all provide additional time in the sun that you need to boost your fertility. Clearly, please make sure to take preventive measures by using sunscreen to protect yourself from sunburn.

Why the Sun helps..

Vitamin D is crucial for the reproductive health, hormone levels and ovulation. Although vitamin D can be found in food, the main source will be sunlight. And when women have adequate levels of vitamin D, women can produce large amount of progesterone and estrogen. These both work to regulate your menstrual cycle and can also improve ovulation.

Get outdoors in the next couple of weeks and soak up as much Vitamin D as possible because it's necessary for healthy bone and embryo development once pregnant. Add some outdoor activities such as signing up for a outdoor workout class.

If you are unable to go outdoors because of your strict nine to five job, you can find vitamin D in a number of food such as milk, cereal, eggs, and fish. But, the amount we take in with food will not be sufficient. The majority of vitamin D you body needs is produced chemincally when sunlight is absorbed through the skin.

Below is a lunch sample of how to include fish as part of your meal:

Finding the Space to Heal

It's been mere months since my past conception and since my first baby passed away and I was left heartbroken and overwhelmed; not sure how to handle the situation. I had a great support system in place with my husband, family and friends. However, I still felt lost within myself and wish someone had given me advice on what on earth to do. What was once joyful tears turned into painful tears.

So I took the best possible advice from my mother and distracted my myself  by staying busy with work, while I put blogging and podcasting on hold. The intention to stay busy was to not dwell on the experience and memories, but they always found a place, time and day where tears would stream down my face. I would wipe them off quickly, telling myself, I am strong and I will be okay, but the truth was, I was lost and disconnected.

A Healthy You
