Keeping Your Feet Happy

Despite the fact that you always want fabulous shoes other qualities to look for is the level of comfortableness. We often tend to stuff our feet into pointy, tiny, dead flat or heeled shoes until we reached a certain age. Quite frankly for me, my feet started hurting more and more at work when I would travel between clinic sites. So I decided, this time I would chose a work shoe that is stylish, but more comfortable than anything.

When your ready to replace some of your uncomfortable foot wear, keep the following tips in mind:
1. Have a salesperson measure your feet and keep in mind if your feet are wide or narrow, long toes or short toes.

2. Wait until the afternoon to shop for shoes because your feet naturally tend to expand during the day when your walking.

3. Select a pair of shoes that are not tight, pointy or tiny to avoid hammer toes  , go with comfort and stand in the shoes to make sure you have quarter to a half inch in space between to longest toe and the end of the shoe.

4. Walk around in the shoes because the sizes vary from manufacture. So make sure you walk in the shoe to see if there is enough room at the balls of the feet, don't fit snugly and don't pinch or slip off. Don't rationalize that the shoes just need to be "broken in" or that they'll stretch with time. Find shoes that fit from the start.

Not too long ago I decided to buy one pair of Nike running shoes specifically for jogging and running and one pair of Asics flat work out shoes for weight training only because both shoes have a different purpose and structure. Plus it will keep my feet happy during heavy workouts.

I also love sandals, but you have to make sure you buy the right ones. Two sandals I definitely recommend that are cute, stylish and comfortable are the TEVA sandals and the MERONA sandals. I could literally walk for days in these two pairs. As a matter fact I took the Merona sandals to Chicago and it provided so much comfort that I was amazed how much walking I did from Westside Chicago, Wrigleyfield and Downtown.

Last, but not least are your work shoes and I know looking cute at work is sometimes much more desirable than feeling comfortable. However, my feet were shouting at me, especially my little toes because I notice how red my little toes would get after long 8 hour shifts. So, I finally said, enough and took a trip to DWS shoes store to look for cute and comfortable shoes and found the following pairs anne klein guardian pump and gold square flats.

Remember, you don't have to give up looking stylish if you come across a shoe that has both, but please do keep your feet happy and avoid a trip to the podiatrist.

Besos!!!!
